Who is cooler than Clint Eastwood? Nobody. Nobody comes close. This image is from his classic, “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly”. He was cool as ice in that performance.
The pencil started off rough, but it captured the attitude and pose I wanted. I never try for perfection in the pencil sketch, I just use it as a road map of where I want the painting to go.
The biggest challenge in this painting was capturing that coolness in his eyes. His eyes are steely and confident. He is looking strong in the midst of the surreal chaos around him, like all anti heroes.
